The heart of downtown Plain came alive during the inaugural Plain Fest on October 1, 2016. The street was filled with good conversation, music, laughter, fun and prizes all while 38 businesses showcased their food, talents and wares. Many of the business owners and attendees stopped by the registration booth or tracked down a member of the committee to express how much they enjoyed it and excitedly looking forward to next years event. An estimated 700 people attended.
The 2nd annual local business street festival was renamed to Strassenfest, to take on the growing Bavarian theme of the Village of Plain. The event is held in October. In 2017, it was held on October 7, 2017. In 2018, October 6, 2018. 2019 was cancelled due to weather. 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19. The 2021 festival was October 9, 2021.The 2022 festival was October 8, 2022.The 2023 festival was scheduled for October 14, 2023, but was canceled due to inclement weather. The 2024 Strassenfest is scheduled for September 21, 2024.
