Floodplain Ordinance, Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM)

 and the Flood Insurance Study

December 2, 2009

A Public Hearing was held in the Village of Plain at the Municipal Building on December 2, 2009 at 6:45 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting was to review the new Floodplain Ordinances, Flood Insurance Rate Map and the Flood Insurance Study.

The following Village Board members were present: Raymond Ellenbolt, President; Robert Jewell; James Liegel; Duane Meise; Robert Neuheisel; and, Merry Lynn Riek, Trustees. Trustee David Buchanan was absent.

Notice of this meeting was posted on November 18, 2009 in the following locations in the Village of Plain:  Municipal Building; Plain Post Office; and, The Peoples Community Bank.  A Class 2 notice of this public hearing was published in the November 18, 2009 and November 25, 2009 issue of the Home News.

The hearing was called to order at 6:45 p.m. by President Ellenbolt.

Documents review are as follows: the new Chapter 19 Floodplain Ordinance; the revised Chapter 20 Shoreland-Wetland Ordinance; Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), panel numbers 55111CO491E, 55111CO492E and 55111CO493E dated December 18, 2009; and, the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) dated December 18, 2009, Volume number 55111CV001A and 55111CV002A.

Meise motioned to adopt new Chapter 19 Floodplain Ordinance; the revised Chapter 20 Shoreland-Wetland Ordinance; Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), panel numbers 55111CO491E, 55111CO492E and 55111CO493E dated December 18, 2009; and, the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) dated December 18, 2009, Volume number 55111CV001A and 55111CV002A. Jewell seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Jewell motioned to adjourn the Public Hearing at 6:54 p.m. Neuheisel seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
